December KAL announced!

13 Nov

I would like to host a simple KAL starting on December 8th at TricoThé. It’s going to be a shawl/scarf knit-a-long that will be great for beginners (new techniques will be taught: increasing, adding beads & picking up stitches) and a great easy knit for experienced knitters. This could be a quick project for yourself or you could make it a lovely Christmas present.

I will be making kits for this KAL. The yarn selected for this KAL is Koigu KPPPM. The kit will consist of two hanks of yarn and beads. The pattern is the Saturday Shawl by Amy Swenson.

Let me know if you are interested in joining in?

I’ll be starting another thread that will be the official December KAL thread on the Tricothé at L’OisiveThé forum at Ravelry. If you haven’t joined our group on Ravelry, please do!

**********

What’s been going on at L’OisiveThé?

6 Nov

Sorry for the radio silence! I was having problems accessing WordPress and no time to really follow up on what the problem was but logging in tonight it worked so here I am writing you a little update.

A lot of new things going on at the tea house so I’ll just start the laundry list here:

- I’m back to work full time at L’OisiveThé! I was away for almost a year on maternity leave and with La Rentrée scolaire I also had my own personal Rentrée à L’OisiveThé.

- Tempo Tea Time is back at L’OisiveThé on Tuesday nights! Thibaut Bosworth-Gerome from Tempo Time English is the host of the group. TTT meets every Tuesday night at 7:30pm.

- A new knitting session has been added to the tea house’s scheduled events. Every other Saturday morning from 9am-11:30am you can now join us for a matinée privé for Tricot Matin. Details are posted on the tea house’s forum on Ravelry and events are posted weekly on our Facebook page. Knitting night aka. TricoThé is still going on EVERY Wednesday night starting at 7:30pm.

- New yarns! Recently added to the tea house line is Koigu KPM and KPPPM. I will be gradually adding new colors of KPPPM through the end of the year. Also, I am carrying new lines of yarn from ShiBui Knits. L’OisiveThé now stocks Highland Alpaca, a bulky weight yarn in a beautiful blend of merino and adult alpaca. The yardage of this yarn is incredible! Also, from ShiBui we now carry their baby alpaca. The softest yarn around! Photos to come…

There are a few other new things brewing at the tea house but it’s a little early to make official announcements. Now that I’m back to blogging again, stay tuned to hear more!
